About Me

“What you are looking for is not on the mountain—it is in you.” — John Muir

“The obstacle is the way.” — Marcus Aurelius

Hello! I’m Sheridan

Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor

I’m also an adventurer, a dreamer, a writer, an artist, an innovator, an advocate, an interpreter, and the CEO of a Biotech business that is creating medical devices to change the world.   I am passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s most difficult and meaningful moments with clarity, resilience, and compassion. My work is rooted in evidence-based practices and a trauma-informed approach, but at its core, it is deeply human—centered on connection, trust, diversity and honoring each person’s unique story.

Over the past two decades, I’ve supported individuals, families, groups, and various organizations through challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, imbalance, relationship struggles, and life transitions. I believe that healing is not about “fixing” what is broken, but about understanding, integrating, strengthening and healing wounds to live a higher quality of life.

Outside of the therapy room, I find meaning in experiences that mirror the work I do with clients. Climbing mountains has taught me that growth is rarely easy—it requires endurance, courage, and a willingness to keep going even when the path is steep. But the view, the strength, and the perspective gained along the way make every step a way to walk towards healing and growth.

My goal is to create a space where you feel seen, heard, understood, and supported—not judged or rushed. Whether you are navigating a specific challenge or seeking deeper self-understanding, I consider it a privilege to walk alongside you in that journey.

My Approach & Values

I believe that healing is both courageous and deeply personal. My approach is grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed care, while honoring the complexity of each individual’s lived experience. I strive to create a space that is safe, collaborative, and free of judgment—where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and patterns with honesty and clarity.

I do not view people as problems to be fixed, but as individuals with inherent strength, resilience, and capacity for growth. Together, we work to better understand your story, develop healing skills and tools, and create meaningful, sustainable change in your life.

I am willing to walk with you along a healing journey that is not easy—it takes effort, persistence, and trust in the process. There are moments when the path feels steep and uncertain, but each step forward builds strength and leads to a better path (and neuropathway). In the same way, the work we do in therapy is intentional and sometimes challenging, but ultimately worth it.

At the heart of my practice are values of authenticity, compassion, integrity, and respect. I am committed to meeting you where you are, honoring your place and pace, and supporting you in building a life that feels aligned, empowered, and meaningful.

    Some of my Specialties

    First Responder Therpay

I provide therapy and support to individuals who work in high-stress emergency response roles, such as military members, police officers, and firefighters. These professionals often witness traumatic events and experience significant occupational stress, making them vulnerable to mental health issues like PTSD, depression, and anxiety. I am trained to provide trauma-informed care, which recognizes the impact of trauma on individuals and tailors treatment accordingly. I have worked professionally and personally in a variety of roles with first responders for over 20 years, which has given me lived experience to expand and enhance my expertise.

    Betrayal Trauma

I help individuals navigate the emotional, psychological, physical, and spiritual aftermath of betrayal. I specialize in supporting clients who have experienced deep trust violations, whether from infidelity, secret pornography use, deception, or other forms of relational trauma. I guide clients in processing their pain, understanding the impact of betrayal, setting boundaries, re-regulating their polyvagal nervous system which may be impacted due to deceit, and helping rebuild trust in themselves and others. My approach often combines empathy, active listening, and evidence-based neuropsychotherapeutic methods to foster healing, personal growth, and empowerment. I provide clients with coping strategies to manage their emotional responses, rebuild a sense of safety, and make informed decisions about their relationships moving forward.

    Overcoming Pornography

II support individuals who struggle with unhealthy or compulsive pornography use by helping them understand the underlying factors that contribute to their behavior. I also help them explore the impact of pornography on their relationships, self-esteem, and overall well-being. My approach focuses on helping clients develop healthier coping mechanisms, improve self-control, and build stronger emotional and intimate connections. I also work to reduce shame and stigma around their struggles, providing a safe, non-judgmental space for healing. Using evidence-based methods, I assist clients in breaking free from addictive patterns, setting boundaries, and fostering a more balanced, fulfilling life. My work emphasizes personal empowerment, self-awareness, and sustainable recovery.
